About Julie..

Julie McDowell is a local Sunderland lass who started selling fresh flowers and arrangements from a market barrow in The Bridges shopping Centre in Sunderland when she was 18 years old.

She then went to work for various florists such as Bethanys and Flower Angels whilst also helping out at Katherine's in Newcastle during peak periods. These experiences provided Julie with a solid foundation in floral design and customer service, allowing her to hone her skills and develop her own unique style leading to the opening of her own flower shop in Redhouse, Sunderland.

Throughout her floral career, Julie has worked with clients such as Richard Thoms Funeral Home in Castletown, event work for City of Sunderland University, as well as many local proms and graduations with schools and academies around the Sunderland area.

Her reputation for creating beautiful, bespoke floral arrangements quickly grew, leading her to establish her own business, Flowers by Julie McDowell.
