Julie McDowell is a proud Sunderland local who has been working with flowers from a young age.

She began her floristry journey at just 18 years old, selling fresh flowers and arrangements from a market barrow in The Bridges Shopping Centre. Julie went on to work with several established florists, including Bethanys and Flower Angels, while also helping out at Katherine’s in Newcastle during busy periods.

These experiences gave Julie a strong foundation in floral design and customer service, eventually leading to the opening of her own flower shop in Redhouse, Sunderland, and the creation of Flowers by Julie McDowell.
